"I had been communicating with Doug, the owner, and his new office assistant. Both were very responsive and very easy to work with. Doug always got back to me with any questions and always closed with... "don't worry, I will take care of you." I am glad I listened to him because he did. His team of movers showed up on time and got right to it. All were extremely polite and very hard workers. I think the move ended up taking quite a bit longer than the crew anticipated as I didn't prep as well for move day as I should have, but they never missed a beat. Other than a brief lunch break they worked hard all day. I never felt any of them were dogging it or cutting corners. Furniture going to temporary storage was wrapped as was furniture going into the apartment. Doug even showed up early to check-in on how things were going and helped out for several hours. At the end of the day Doug returned again to see how things were coming and help wrap things up as we got all of our belongings in our apartment and storage garage. As we all know moving is very stressful and the unknown of working with a company that is new to you can add to that. I appreciated that I never felt nickel and dimed by Legacy Moving and they worked with me to come up with ways to further reduce costs unlike the "Big Box" movers. The quotes from the big guys included charges of several hundred dollars to box flat screen televisions where Doug didn't have those ridiculous charges. Now that we are settled in the apartment I can now look back and appreciate how much Doug and his crew really did make this process easy for me. "My family used Legacy Moving services twice already for personal moves. Both moves went extremly well. Moving is such a stressful event but Doug and his crew were very professional, courteous, and most helpful in seeing that my items were unloaded with care as if they were their own. But what really impressed me about Legacy Moving Services was that when Doug the owner heard that I was planning a large communtity event for a local non-profit foundation (The Dallas Arthritis Foundation) he stepped in and stepped up and worked it with his crew all UNPAID for two days. And if that was not enough, he since then has helped every year since... The Dallas Arthritis Foundation holds a large community walk event every year. I knew that I would need movers to help move items for our party for 1500+ people, but never did I think Legacy Movers would donate their time and services for FREE but I was moved by the generosity of Legacy Moving Services. I knew that my personal move with them went so smooth, but organizing a event for 1500 + people can be daunting but Doug and his crew were complete professionals. They consistently kept in touch with me and kept me up to date on the status of any issue that would arise while setting up our event. His crews spent two full days UNPAID giving back to the community of Dallas delivering items for the Dallas Arthritis Walk. The helped vendors set up their booths, picked up food items and once the event was over his crew was there to break down every table, chair and pack up every item used for a party for 1500+ people and made sure every item was delivered and placed back in the foundations storage space to my satisfaction. They never stopped and they didn't need to be told, what to do they just knew their jobs and did it with a smile on their face. Legacy Moving Services by far has went out of their way to give back to their local community by giving The Arthritis Foundation this service FREE for the past 3 years!!!! As I am sure you remember my call to you that Tuesday evening was in desperation, as another mover I had hired did not show. After several attempts to contact that mover, it was apparent by 7pm that they were a NO SHOW.
When I contacted you with my urgent request, you not only understood my frustration, but also promised a truck within 45 minutes. True to your word, you yourself came out within 45 minutes with a truck and co-worker and completed my move shortly before midnight. Everything was moved, without a scratch. Knowing I had clients expected at 8am Wednesday in our new location, you stayed until everything was in place and ready for business, and called the following day to see if everything was ok.
It is not customary for me to recommend businesses, althought being in the mortgage business, I am constantly asked for referrals. I fear referring someone that may not live up to my referral thus having an impact on my business.
